E-News Updates from Rep. Fritts – September 8, 2026

Hello and Happy Tuesday! I hope everyone had a great Labor Day weekend and enjoyed the unofficial end of summer.

In this week’s newsletter, I have a few important updates from Springfield, helpful resources for our community, and a look at what my office has been up to around the 74th District.

As always, please feel free to reach out to my office at any time. You can reach us by email at [email protected] or by phone at 815-561-3690.

Resources for Farmers

With harvest season around the corner, I wanted to share an important resource for any farmers who may be in need of support.

Farm SOS, formerly called the Farm Family Resource Initiative, offers confidential support, counseling, and resources from people who understand agriculture and rural life. If you or someone you know needs help, you can call their 24/7 helpline or visit their website for more information.

Illinois Ranks #48 in Population Growth

While our neighboring states see population growth, Illinois is shrinking under Governor Pritzker’s leadership. In fact, Illinois ranks 48th in population growth rate among the 50 states and the worst in the Midwest. We have to make Illinois a more affordable, safe, and prosperous place to live if we want to become a destination for growth.

Community Outreach

The Classroom Nelson officially joined the Rock Falls Chamber of Commerce! This locally owned bar, restaurant, and event center has been serving the area for the past few years, and it was great to welcome them as an official member of our local Chamber.

My office attended a luncheon hosted by Sauk Valley Voices of Recovery, Ogle/DeKalb ROSC, and the Rochelle Area Community Foundation. The event included a screening of Generation Found, a documentary focused on youth substance use recovery. Thank you to ROE 47 and the local partners working to bring these resources to our community!

Are you looking to visit one of the incredible museums across the Chicagoland area? Utilize my office’s FREE museum pass, which allows admission to any participating museum for up to four people.
