Rep. Fritts Honors Distinctive Gardens as First Local Business Highlight

For his April 2023 local business highlight, State Representative Bradley Fritts chose to highlight Distinctive Gardens in Dixon. Rep. Fritts spent time touring the business and presented the owners with a certificate of appreciation for their contributions to the community.

“I chose Distinctive Gardens because they are a great business that has been an active part of our community for years,” stated Rep. Fritts. “From providing the wreaths and trees for local fundraisers to their weekly Sippin Trip videos on Facebook Live, they are always finding new ways to engage with the people in our area.”

Distinctive Gardens was founded in Dixon in 1998 by Bud and Lisa LeFever, who are from a multi-generational family of horticulturists. The business is active all across the District 74 community and even provides flowers for the city baskets in Sterling.

“Oftentimes we talk about providing incentives such as tax breaks to new businesses in our state, but overlook businesses that have been a staple in our community for decades,” said Rep. Fritts. “This series of monthly business highlights gives me a chance to speak directly with business owners to better understand what I can do down in Springfield to ensure they are also able to thrive in Illinois.”

Distinctive Gardens is located at 2020 Lowell Park Road in Dixon, Illinois.
