Community Outreach

Last week, I toured the Lasalle County Sheriff’s Office. I had some great conversations with the Sheriff and his team about the challenges they face and how I can help them in Springfield.

Whiteside Area Career Center welcomed me to a discussion with their Creating Entrepreneurs Opportunity Students this week. It was wonderful to see so many young entrepreneurs who want to get to work in our community. We should always encourage the kind of ambition that leads the next generation to build and grow new businesses!

Thank you to Northbrook Middle School in Mendota for hosting me as your Principal for a day! I met so many incredible faculty and staff members who are all dedicated to the growth and education of future generations. I also want to extend a special thank you to Principal Paula Daley for helping to organize this and for the great work she does with her students!

I stopped by Prescott Brothers Ford, Inc. for their annual food drive. This year they collected over 2 tons of food and raised a total of $12,318 for the Rochelle Christian Food Pantry. Thank you to everyone who came out to help our community members in need!

Last week, I was able to attend the groundbreaking for the new Willis Senior Lofts in Rochelle. This new development will address the current need for housing intended to serve our elderly population. Thank you to everyone who came together to make this project a success!

November Local Business Highlight

For my November 2023 local business highlight, I chose to highlight Midwestern Clothing Company in Rochelle because of their appreciation and love of their community. This family and friend owned business is involved with the Rochelle Chamber of Commerce and frequently donates their time and merchandise to local fundraisers and events.

Midwestern Clothing Company was founded online in 2020 by sisters Haley and Kelsey, and childhood friend Alyssa. Since then, they were able to move into a permanent brick and mortar storefront in Rochelle.

When speaking with the girls, they told me how honored and grateful they are for the opportunity to work and be involved in the community they grew up in. As someone who is passionate about keeping people and families in rural Illinois, I truly appreciate their dedication to the Rochelle community.

2023 Legislative Survey

I want to hear from you!

I invite all constituents in District 74 to complete my 2023 Legislative Survey.

This survey is a tool for me to better understand the unique needs and challenges of District 74. The legislation that I work on should be a direct reflection of the issues my constituents are facing, and this survey will show me exactly what policy areas I should be focusing on.

The survey asks for general feedback on which issues are most important to you, as well as questions focused specifically around policy areas such as gun bans and tax increases.
