Legislative Updates from Rep. Fritts

During my time touring the 74th District, I’ve heard from many constituents and organizations who want to support our local communities but don’t know where to start. To meet this need, I am proud to introduce my new ‘Community Calendar’ on my official state website! Here, residents can view upcoming community events in one streamlined location.

Please note that as state ethics laws apply to this site, event restrictions apply. For-profit, political, or personal events will not be posted. Final decisions on which events are allowed are made at the discretion of the Office of Rep. Fritts.

I am thrilled to offer my second annual Hunter Safety Course this September! With hunting season right around the corner, I want to offer my constituents a way to learn more about how to keep themselves and others safe while enjoying the outdoors.

The event will take place at the Rochelle Masonic Lodge located at 500 Lincoln Highway, Rochelle. Reservations are required and spots are limited. To secure your spot, contact Representative Fritts’ office at 815-561-3690.

Celebrate National Kool-Aid Day with free Kool-Aid! This event will run on the sidewalk in front of my district office, located at 101 W. 1st Street in Dixon, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM or until supplies last.

The Ogle County Fair was a hit again this year! Such a great time watching the tractor pull and speaking with constituents. Thanks to everyone who came together to put on this family-friendly event!

I had the opportunity to tour the Sterling Steel facility. It was a great chance for me to learn more about the work they do. Thank you to the Sterling Steel team for taking the time to speak with me!

Congratulations to the new Reagan Mass Transit District! Formerly the Lee-Ogle Transportation Systems, this new transit district is working to provide equal access to transit across our region.

I had the honor of passing out over 400 meals at the United Way of Whiteside County’s “Let’s Feed Our Children” program in Rock Falls! This is an incredible program that helps fill the gaps for children who do not have consistent meals at home while on summer break. Thank you for allowing me the chance to be a part of this great event!

I had a blast at the Lee County Fair this year! I always look forward to this fun annual event that brings our community together.

I recently attended the LaSalle County Township Officials Picnic. This was a chance for me to catch up with some of our great local officials who serve our community. Thank you for inviting me to this event!

My staff attended a ribbon cutting for Clearly Exteriors Pressure Washing. Congratulations to the entire company on officially joining the Rochelle Chamber of Commerce!

My staff hosted traveling office hours in Malta, Creston, and Rochelle. Thanks to everyone who came out with questions or concerns, my office is always here to help!

Congratulations to Allure of Sterling on the grand opening of your new memory care wing! This is a much-needed addition to healthcare in our area and will benefit so many members of our community.
