August Local Business Highlight
For my August 2024 local business highlight, I chose to highlight Oliver’s Corner Market in Dixon because of their continued support of our community and their dedication to providing a quality, neighborhood grocery store. From hosting Saturday cookout fundraisers to supporting the local Knights of Columbus, Oliver’s Corner Market works hard to help our community thrive.
Oliver’s Corner Market was founded by owners Tim and Patty Oliver in 1987. Nearly every weekend in the summer and fall, Oliver’s hosts cookouts assisting in the fundraising efforts of local organizations in their parking lot.
But the one thing I think deserves the most recognition is the fact that Oliver’s stepped up to help save the Rock River Valley Shamrock Club and their yearly Saint Patrick’s Day parade. We all thought the 2024 Saint Patrick’s Day parade would be our last, but they stepped up, fundraised in our community, and ensured the club and parade are back in business. That is exactly the kind of business that deserves to be highlighted and I am honored to bring them some much-needed appreciation.
Oliver’s Corner Market is located at 748 N. Brinton Avenue in Dixon. For more information, visit their website at OliversCornerMarket.com.

Rep. Fritts Scores Perfect Voting Record with Manufacturing Organization
I am incredibly proud to receive a perfect voting record from the Technology & Manufacturing Association (TMA). The TMA named 32 lawmakers in the Illinois House and Senate to their 100% club after voting in line with 7 critical pieces of legislation impacting small and mid-sized manufacturers.
Manufacturing is a critical part of our job market but continues to be burdened by overbearing government regulation that harms the smallest businesses the most. I will continue my fight down in Springfield to support our small and mid-sized manufacturing here in Illinois.

Community Outreach
I recently toured the Marquis Inc. plant in Hennepin to learn more about their role in the energy industry. Did you know they process corn from 3,500 different Midwestern farmers to create ethanol? As a farmer myself, I appreciate their dedication to supporting our industry while also providing much-needed energy to our region.
Congratulations to Rock Valley Physical Therapy on your new location in Rochelle! Physical therapy is such a critical part of our healthcare system and I am thrilled to have a new clinic in our community.
Teen Turf in Amboy recently competed for the Governor’s Cup Hometown Award at the Illinois State Fair. It was a pleasure to show up in support of this organization. Very proud of the amazing work they do!
Fun time at the Whiteside County Fair earlier this month! I always look forward to the incredible County Fairs hosted in our region every summer. Thanks to everyone who works to make them possible!
Congratulations to the Edward Jones team on their new Sterling location! Looking forward to seeing you grow alongside our community.
Thank you to Morningside of Sterling for welcoming me to a town hall with your residents! It was a pleasure to speak with this community about policies that will improve access to healthcare and support our farmers.
Congratulations to Action Powersports in Sterling on joining the Sauk Valley Area Chamber of Commerce! It’s wonderful to see local businesses growing alongside our community.
I recently gave a legislative update to residents at Heritage Woods of Sterling. We discussed our need for healthcare access in rural Illinois and I answered some questions about the work I’ve been doing down in Springfield. Thanks to Heritage for welcoming me!
