Hello and happy Monday!
Last week, I wrapped up the final events in my 2025 Summer Tour. I want to thank each and every person who stopped by one of these events. Life is incredibly busy, and I appreciate you taking the time to come speak with me or learn more about the work we’ve been doing down in Springfield. I also want to give a special thanks to all of the restaurants, libraries, community centers, and more that graciously hosted us for these events.
Even with the Summer Tour over, my office has been busy at work planning outreach events for the fall and winter. See more details below on our upcoming Job Fair and Hunter Safety Course!
As always, I encourage constituents to contact my office with any questions, comments, or concerns they may have. I am here to serve you!

Community Outreach

I recently hosted a Town Hall event in Earlville to update residents on our spring legislative session down in Springfield and the work my office is doing here at home. Thanks to everyone who came out to ask questions and get engaged in the process!

Rustic Paw Studio recently hosted their grand opening and joined Discover Dixon. This boutique in Downtown Dixon donates some of their proceeds to local animal shelters. Welcome to the community!

Amboy Community Unit School District #272 welcomed me to speak at their teacher institute day. It was a great opportunity for me to hear directly from educators about their needs. Looking forward to bringing their feedback with me to Springfield!

Thank you to the Polo Community School District for welcoming me to speak at your teacher in-service day! I appreciated the chance to hear more about what your district and teachers need from legislators.

My office attended the groundbreaking at the Rochelle Intermodal Transload Center expansion. Congratulations to everyone who has worked to begin this important infrastructure project!

Congratulations to Sleek Hair Salon & Scalp Spa on the opening of your new location and officially joining Discover Dixon! We are thrilled to welcome you to the Downtown Dixon community.

My office attended the Spotlight Media ribbon cutting as they joined Discover Dixon. Spotlight Media is a locally owned media company that helps service-based businesses grow their presence online and attract new customers.

We hosted another successful IPASS and ICASH joint event last week! Thank you to all of the representatives from the Illinois Treasurer’s Office and Illinois Tollway for coming out, along with our gracious hosts at the Graves-Hume Public Library for letting us use your space!

I recently hosted my final Town Hall Event of my 2025 Summer Tour. A huge thank you to the fire department for welcoming us and our special guests, Rochelle Mayor John Bearrows, Steward Village President Hugh McKiski, and Fire Chief Galen Cadott, who joined us for this great event!

The Lee County Farm Bureau hosted a legislative breakfast where I was able to speak about key agricultural issues, alongside my colleagues State Senator Li Arellano, Jr, and representatives from the office of Rep. Darin LaHood. Together, we gave both state and federal updates on legislation that is most impactful to our farmers. This was a great event, graciously hosted by a fantastic local business, The Huddle Cafe in Ashton!

I hosted my last event of my 2025 Summer Tour at Mary’s Diner in Dixon. Thank you to everyone who attended one of these events this year! I have truly enjoyed each and every conversation I’ve had with constituents.
