Hello everyone, and happy Monday!
I hope everyone has been staying warm during the recent cold spells.
The Illinois House of Representatives went back to Springfield for our first week of the 2026 Legislative Session from January 20th to 22nd. Unfortunately, we did zero substantive work while in the Capitol.
Instead of passing legislation to lower property taxes, address the energy crisis, or tackle any number of important issues for the people of Illinois, the majority party decided to spend time passing non-binding resolutions focused on federal issues. This political grandstanding did nothing to make life better for our constituents and was a complete waste of time and taxpayer dollars.
We head back to Springfield twice this month, from February 17th to 19th and from the 24th to the 26th. On February 18th, we will be hearing Governor Pritzker’s annual State of the State and budget address. Stay tuned for more information on what we hear regarding the Governor’s priorities this year.

As always, please reach out to my office with questions, comments, or concerns at any time!
Medicare 101 Event Tomorrow!

I invite all local seniors who have questions about Medicare to attend a FREE Medicare 101 seminar TOMORROW from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Rock Falls Chamber of Commerce, located at 601 W 10th Street in Rock Falls. My office is excited to co-host this event, alongside State Representative Ryan Spain, to remain proactive in assisting our senior population by ensuring they are able to fully utilize their Medicare benefits.
The seminar will be hosted by experts from the Illinois Department on Aging’s Senior Health Insurance Program (SHIP) who are able to offer information and guidance about the intricacies of Medicare. This information will assist Medicare recipients in making empowered decisions about their coverage options. Questions from attendees are encouraged.
