E-News Updates from Rep. Fritts – April 7, 2025

Happy April! I hope everyone has enjoyed the start of the new month.

Last week, we had a break from session after a hectic committee deadline week. Today we are back to Springfield and ready to legislate! This Friday is our House bill 3rd reading deadline, which means that all bills passed out of committee have to pass the House floor, or they will be unable to advance further in the legislative process this year.

My office has been busy at home planning a jam-packed summer of events, including my third annual Summer Tour! Stay tuned for more details on that in the coming weeks.

As always, please feel free to contact my office with questions, comments, or concerns at any time.

I am here to serve you!

In partnership with the Sterling Police Department and Sauk Valley Area Chamber of Commerce, join us for a prescription drop-off drive on Saturday, April 12th from 9:00 am to 11:00 am. The event will take place in the parking lot of the Sauk Valley Area Chamber of Commerce, located at 211 Locust Street in Sterling.

I encourage all constituents to attend and utilize this opportunity to safely discard unwanted or expired medications!

Participants should remain in their vehicles and follow the marked lanes when entering and exiting the parking lot for safety reasons. Accepted medications include tablets, capsules, patches, vaping devices and cartridges (lithium batteries removed), and pet medications. Restricted items include liquids, syringes, and needles.

Congratulations to Tortoise Multisport in Dixon on your grand opening! The store’s mascot is based on their rescue turtle Teddy. Welcome to the community!

Congratulations to The HitHub by Bennie Baseball on your grand opening! This is a new facility that aims to improve baseball players’ skills while remaining accessible to anyone who wants to put in the work.

My office attended a ribbon-cutting to celebrate the acquisition of Thompson Trucking by Ascendance Truck Center. Ascendance Truck Center is still located at 23940 Moline Road in Sterling. Congratulations to all, we look forward to seeing your continued growth in our community!

If you plan to visit Springfield in the coming months, please reach out! I am always available for my constituents and would be happy to meet with you during your visit. It is crucial that the government operates with transparency, and I encourage you to hold me, and my colleagues, accountable!
