Happy National Intern Day to my incredible summer interns: Emma Dinges, Brady Partington, and Wyatt Widolff! Incredibly proud of how hard they have worked for the people of the 74th District this summer!

For my July 2025 local business highlight, I recognized M Thomas Suits Law Office in Polo. M Thomas Suits Law Office has been serving our region for over three decades, providing legal guidance in real estate, estate planning, probate, and municipal law. What stands out just as much as their legal work is their deep and sustained commitment to the community. From local boards to service organizations, they’ve shown what it means to be truly invested in the people they serve.

The practice was founded in 1990 and is led by attorney Thomas Suits, who has built a reputation of legal excellence and extensive public service. He has been a member of the Lions Club for over 48 years with a perfect attendance record. Thomas also has decades of service on the Park Board, Library Board, Rock River Center Board, KSB Board, and the Governor Lowden Memorial Committee.

Thomas Suits exemplifies servant leadership. His dedication to helping our community through his legal expertise and involvement made M Thomas Suits Law Office a natural choice for this month’s Local Business Highlight.

Changes Counseling, LLC held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to commemorate their 15 years of service. They have been a major part of our community by providing counseling services in Rochelle. Congratulations on 15 years of service!

My office co-hosted our annual joint Senior Health Fair in DeKalb. This is a fantastic yearly event that provides necessary health services and resources to our local senior population. Thank you to everyone who attended and partnered with us on this event!

I recently hosted my annual Mayor’s Lunch, where I invite local leaders to attend an open discussion about their needs and hear a legislative update from Springfield. Thank you to all of the leaders who made time to attend this event!

I hosted a Town Hall event at the Paw Paw Community Center. We had a great conversation about the work being done in Springfield and at home. Thanks to everyone who stopped by!

My office attended a ribbon-cutting to celebrate Rosemeyer Management Group’s new location! They are now located at 3009 E. Lincolnway in Sterling. Congratulations to the team at Rosemeyer on your great new space!

Congratulations to State Senator Li Arellano, Jr on the grand opening of your new Dixon office! Looking forward to our continued collaboration to benefit our constituents!
