E-News Updates from Rep. Fritts – November 24, 2025

Hello and Happy Monday!

With our fall veto session officially wrapped up, I have been enjoying time back in the district. I had the opportunity to tour the Rochelle Fire and Police stations last week. Both experiences were informative as I spoke with our first responders about what they need from their legislator.

Last week, we wrapped up our Winter Clothing Collection Drive. Thank you to everyone who generously donated! We will be able to provide winter clothing for dozens of our community members in need. My office also hosted our final event of the year, which was a Medicare 101 informational session.

As always, please reach out to my office at any time if you have any questions, comments, or concerns.

New Bill Suggestion Form

As a legislator, my number one job is to advocate for the people who elected me. That is why I am encouraging constituents to submit their ideas for legislation I can file in 2026. Some of the best legislation I have passed through the House came to me from concerned constituents, local leaders, and community organizations. I look forward to hearing from residents about ways I can improve their lives and our community.

Community Outreach

The Rochelle Fire Department welcomed me to their fire station for a tour. It was incredibly informative to learn about their operations, equipment, and needs from me as their legislator. Thank you to the RFD for your bravery as you serve our community!

My office hosted an informational Medicare 101 event for constituents. The Northwestern Illinois Agency on Aging presented information and answered questions to make this complex process clearer for residents. Thank you to our event partner, the Northwestern Illinois Agency on Aging, and to our gracious hosts at Hub City Senior Center!

I attended Illinois House Minority Leader Tony McCombie’s annual Law Enforcement Luncheon in Freeport. Alongside my colleagues in the House and the Senate, we hosted a panel with law enforcement officers from multiple local agencies to hear directly from them. We had a very productive discussion about how policy impacts their job and ways for us to better support law enforcement statewide.

My office attended a fundraiser for the Valor Support Project. This is an organization created by a local veteran that helps other veterans cover their basic needs. From helping pay for gas to medical support and much more, Valor Support Project ensures our local veterans are cared for. Thank you to this great organization and everyone who attended in support of our veterans!

My office attended the ribbon cutting and open house to celebrate the 1-year anniversary of the Christensen’s purchase of Farley’s Appliance Sales and Services in Dixon. In November 2024, Eric and Shelly Christensen wanted to expand their services and felt that Farley’s was a great fit, due to also being a long-standing, family-owned business in the area. Congratulations to the team at Farley’s on this anniversary!

Such a fun night at the Mendota Area Chamber of Commerce Annual Dinner! I had the chance to catch up with constituents and hear updates from the chamber about the work they’ve been doing.

I toured the Rochelle Illinois Police station. Chief Pavia personally gave us a tour and I was very impressed by the incredible improvements he’s made to boost morale and improve policing efforts in Rochelle. I always appreciate the opportunity to support our law enforcement!

Thank you to the Dixon Rotary Club for inviting me to be your guest speaker at your meeting! I was happy to give members updates about our recent veto session and explain how these new policies will affect our community.
