Hello and Happy Monday. I hope everyone enjoyed their Thanksgiving holiday!
This year, I felt immensely thankful for all of my constituents in the 74th district, and for the honor of serving you in Springfield. I love our community, and I promise to continue the fight to make it safer, more affordable, and better for everyone.
Please feel free to reach out to my office with any comments, questions, or concerns.
Tax on Tips Continues in Illinois

The State of Illinois has opted out of the new “No Tax on Tips” federal provision and will continue to collect a state tax on tips. House Republicans proposed numerous bills to end taxing tips in Illinois, ensuring more money ends up in the pockets of hardworking Illinoisans. Unfortunately, that was not a priority for Democrats as none of the bills were called for a vote.
Community Outreach

My goal to tour every school in the 74th continued as I stopped by Rochelle Township High School. Principal Chris Lewis gave us a tour and spoke with me about ways we can support our next generation of leaders, including limiting unfunded mandates on our schools. Thank you Dr. Lewis and the entire faculty and staff at RTHS!

Rochelle Community Hospital hosted a ribbon cutting for their new Behavioral Health Services. I was honored to speak about the importance of expanding this service in our region, especially as gaps in healthcare access continue to grow. This is a step in the right direction and will provide critical care to many of our residents! Photo credit to Lifeworks Photography Studio in Rochelle. Thanks for the great photos!

Polo Community High School welcomed me for Career Day. I was happy to speak with students about my role as a State Representative and encourage them to become civically engaged in our democratic process!

Congratulations to Zigler’s Machine & Metal Works LLC on receiving the Made in Illinois Grant! This grant is designed to enhance economic development by providing financial support to small and midsized manufacturers in Illinois. Proud to support this local manufacturing business that offers great jobs and grows our local economy!
