Community Outreach

I had a great time watching the Newman Central Catholic High School production of Frozen! They put on a fantastic show and should be proud of their hard work.

I proudly presented Bentlee Lawrenz with a certificate at Montmorency Elementary School in Rock Falls for his incredible athletic achievement! Bentlee is an 8th-grade student who won the individual 3A Boys IESA State Championship in cross country on October 18, 2025. He absolutely crushed the competition, running his 2-mile course with a mile time of 5:07, and finishing the fastest across all 4 IESA classes. Congratulations Bentlee!

I spoke in defense of our Second Amendment rights at the Illinois Gun Owner Lobby (IGOLD) Day at the Capitol. Law-abiding gun owners continue to be punished for the actions of criminals in Illinois, and that’s not right. I was truly inspired by the advocates who came out in support of our Second Amendment. Thank you to all the Illinoisans who joined us in Springfield!

My office attended “Hands Around the Courthouse”, an event to raise awareness about child abuse in honor of Child Abuse Awareness Month. Thank you to the local leaders and advocates who came together for this important cause to end child abuse in our community!

My office co-hosted a Business After Business event with the other chamber members in our office building. Thanks to CASA, Midland States Bank, Prairie Brome Solar, and Sleek Hair Salon and Scalp Spa for co-hosting with us! We appreciated the chance to welcome the community and learn more about the businesses in our building.

I had a great time at the Ogle County Farm Bureau Legislative Luncheon this week! Connecting with my fellow farmers across the 74th is always a pleasure, and I look forward to continuing my work in support of farmers across Illinois.

Focus House in Rochelle welcomed me to their facility for a visit and to learn more about their efforts to provide residential and alternative programming for at-risk youth. They are doing critical work in our community by providing structure, counseling, and education to children in need.

My office recently hosted our annual Superintendent Round Table at The Long Branch in Amboy. I listened to updates, questions, and concerns from superintendents across the 74th District and gave them important updates about education-related legislation. I always appreciate these roundtables with both educators and administrators, as they give me perspective on critical education policies in Springfield.

I recently attended the Rochelle Chamber of Commerce Annual Dinner, where we celebrated the chamber and recognized the local businesses that are helping our economy grow. Congratulations to all of the award winners this year!
