E-News Updates from Rep. Fritts – September 24, 2025

Hello everyone!

Hope you have all been staying cool during this end-of-summer heatwave, especially as we continue harvest season.

My office recently hosted multiple outreach events, including our Job Fair and Hunter Safety Course. Stay tuned for information on other upcoming events we are scheduling through the end of this year.

Please reach out to my office at any time with comments, questions, or concerns!

End of 2025 Summer Tour

Thank you to everyone who attended one of my Summer Tour events! This year, my tour consisted of 52 stops, including town hall events, coffee & conversation events, school visits, local business tours, and more.

Being a true voice for my constituents is my top priority as a State Representative. My annual Summer Tour ensures that’s possible by allowing me to speak directly with hundreds of constituents about their top issues and concerns as residents of our community. I look forward to bringing this feedback with me when we return to Springfield for veto session in October and for our 2026 spring legislative session.

I want to thank every citizen who engaged with our democratic process and took time out of their day to come speak with me. I also want to thank the incredible businesses, restaurants, and community spaces that graciously hosted these events.

Community Outreach

I had the honor of presenting the 2024–2025 Educator of the Year Award to Shandy Moore Adams, who teaches at the Regional Center for Change in Rock Falls. The Center serves students who face challenges in a traditional school setting, and Shandy’s dedication has made a real difference in helping these young people succeed. Congratulations Shandy, and thank you for your commitment to our students and community!

My office toured the new Sinnissippi Centers facility in Byron, alongside Illinois House Minority Leader Tony McCombie. Sinnissippi offers behavioral healthcare services in our community. This new facility will help address our critical shortage of behavioral healthcare services and ensure more residents get the help they need!

I gave a legislative update to residents at The Meadows of Franklin Grove Assisted Living. We spoke about issues affecting Illinois residents, with a special focus on legislation most impacting our senior community. Thank you for taking the time to speak with me!

Thank you to the Rod family for welcoming me to the Rod Farm Market! The Rod Family homeschools their three children, along with running a petting zoo and a store that supplies items from 37 local vendors. This was an important reminder of the value homeschool families bring to our community!

I presented the Principal of Sterling High School, Jason Austin, with $500 in scholarship money for their new Trap Shooting Team! This scholarship comes from the Illinois Legislative Sportsman Caucus, which seeks to promote hunting, fishing, trapping, and more in the state of Illinois.

My office attended the Rochelle Township High School library renovation ribbon-cutting. In addition to traditional library resources, this renovated facility includes a maker’s space, flex space, and a podcast room. Looking forward to the students enjoying this incredible renovation and all of the new resources this library has to offer!

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our Job Fair at Sauk Valley Community College! It was a pleasure to help connect various employers and prospective employees.
